BASF Opens Global Superabsorbent Polymer Performance Laboratory in Mumbai, India

en.Wedoany.com Reported - BASF has inaugurated a new diaper and superabsorbent polymer (SAP) performance laboratory in Mumbai, India, providing technical and application services to superabsorbent polymer customers worldwide. The laboratory, which falls under BASF Hygiene Solutions, was completed in less than a year and is located within the BASF Innovation Campus Asia Pacific in Mumbai. This campus is BASF's second-largest research and development site in the Asia Pacific region and was established by BASF Chemicals India in 2017.

Leveraging the global superabsorbent polymer production network, the Mumbai Global Technical Service Laboratory will provide technical support, application expertise, and customer-centric rapid collaboration services in one of the world's most dynamic growth markets. The laboratory features a new 200-square-meter experimental area capable of executing more than 30 test methods, dedicated to superabsorbent polymer performance, diaper performance, and benchmarking, supporting collaborative development of new superabsorbent polymer solutions for baby diapers, adult incontinence products, and feminine hygiene products.

Oliver Cullmann, Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategy C3 Value Chain at BASF, stated that the inauguration of the Mumbai Global SAP Performance Laboratory reflects the company's commitment to enhancing performance, sustainability, and value for customers worldwide. The Mumbai SAP and diaper performance laboratory demonstrates BASF's commitment to customer proximity, collaboration, speed, and innovation, and will work in partnership with the existing global product development laboratory for superabsorbent polymers in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
