NVIDIA Launches Jetson Orin Nano 2 with 78 TOPS AI Performance, Available in First Half of 2027

en.Wedoany.com Reported - NVIDIA has introduced the Jetson Orin Nano 2, a robotics computer for entry-level edge AI applications, designed to help developers build AI-powered robots, delivery and inspection drones, and vision AI systems.

As AI models become smaller and more efficient, edge devices are now capable of handling tasks such as understanding context, processing language and images, and responding in real time. These applications place higher demands on computing platforms in terms of compactness, energy efficiency, and edge AI specialization.

The Jetson Orin Nano 2 delivers 78 trillion operations per second of AI performance, featuring 8GB of memory and an 8-core Arm CPU, enabling it to handle AI and video workloads while maintaining a compact form factor and low power consumption. NVIDIA states that with updated Tensor Cores and higher memory bandwidth, its inference performance is twice that of the Jetson Orin Nano Super; at 15 watts, the design power consumption is 40% lower than the previous generation while delivering the same performance.

The platform runs on NVIDIA's software stack and Jetson Agent Skills, and can deploy large language models and vision language models optimized for memory-efficient edge inference, including NVIDIA Cosmos, NVIDIA Nemotron, Gemma 4, and Qwen 3.

Companies such as Cognex, Doosan Bobcat, and Matic are adopting or evaluating the Jetson Orin Nano 2. Wing, an Alphabet subsidiary that operates drone delivery services, uses the Jetson Orin Nano Super and NVIDIA software in its delivery drone fleet and plans to evaluate the Jetson Orin Nano 2 for real-time AI perception and inference in delivery operations. Matic Robots is adopting the platform for its home cleaning robots, enabling conversational AI, gesture detection, home mapping, semantic understanding, and autonomous cleaning.

Currently, more than 3 million developers are building applications using the NVIDIA robotics stack. Jetson partners including AAEON, ADLINK, Advantech, Aetina, Antmicro, Aptiv, Auvidea, AVerMedia, Chuanglebo, Connect Tech, ForeCR, JWIPC, Neurealm, Plink, Realtimes, RidgeRun, RS, Seeed Studio, Tauro Tech, Twowin, TZTEK, and YUAN are developing carrier boards, hardware systems, AI software, and reference solutions based on this platform.

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 2 module and developer kit are expected to be available in the first half of 2027.
