Brazil's Conab Opens Subsidy Claims for Sugarcane, R$270 Million Until October 2026

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The National Supply Company (Conab) has begun accepting applications for financial assistance from independent sugarcane producers in the Northeast region, with applications to be submitted online through the Sugarcane Subsidy Operations Control System (SISSUB) by October 30, 2026.

This assistance, governed by Law No. 13,092, provides a subsidy of R$12 per ton for sugarcane delivered and sold between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026, with a total planned resource cap of R$270 million. The measure aims to offer additional financial support to independent producers who suffered economic losses due to Brazil's export surtax or extreme climate events occurring during this period.

Eligible applicants include independent rural producers (individuals or legal entities), as well as cooperatives and producer associations representing active members or affiliates who are independent producers. Applicants must meet the "independent" condition, meaning they must not have a contractual relationship with industrial units that obligates them to deliver or sell their entire production in exchange for the supply of inputs, machinery, equipment, technical assistance, or transportation. When cooperatives and associations participate, they must also meet conditions established by Conab, including representing active members or affiliates and maintaining valid individual registrations in the National Rural Producer Registration System (Sican).

Conab reminds producers to update their registrations in Sican before initiating applications, confirm that required documents have been uploaded to SISSUB, and verify that rural property data and invoice information are consistent with Sican registration records. After submitting applications, producers should regularly monitor system notifications and correction requests, and it is recommended not to wait until the deadline approaches to submit, allowing time to resolve any pending issues.

Regarding the timeline, the production delivery period covered by this initiative runs from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026, with the application and document submission window open from August 24 to October 30, 2026.
