Metso Secures Over EUR 30 Million Equipment Order for Copper Project in Asia-Pacific
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 2, Metso received an order for key mineral processing equipment for a copper project in the Asia-Pacific region, with a total value exceeding EUR 30 million. The majority of the order has been booked in the company's Minerals segment order intake for the second quarter of 2026, with approximately EUR 6 million recorded in the third quarter. The project owner, specific country of location, and planned commissioning date have not been disclosed.

The scope of supply covers multiple core process stages of a copper concentrator, including grinding, flotation, thickening, filtration, and material handling. Key equipment includes Premier semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mills and ball mills, accompanied by mill liners and spare parts; the flotation stage is equipped with TankCell flotation cells, while the dewatering stage includes High Rate Thickeners and Larox filtration equipment, along with apron feeders.
In addition to large-scale mechanical equipment, Metso will also include digital control systems in the scope of supply, including MillSense, RockSense, and FrothSense+. These systems are used to monitor mill operation, analyze ore characteristics, and identify flotation froth conditions, respectively, providing real-time data for grinding and flotation process control. The equipment order extends from individual machine supply to encompass the full beneficiation process and digital optimization.
This order continues Metso's recent project footprint in the Asia-Pacific mineral processing market. On August 20, the company received an equipment order for the Yitirrti copper-zinc-silver project in Western Australia, supplying crushers, flotation cells, thickeners, regrind equipment, apron feeders, and slurry analyzers for a concentrator with an annual processing capacity of approximately 1.5 million tons. The equipment scope for that project also covers multiple beneficiation stages, from crushing and flotation to dewatering.
Metso currently operates approximately 30 service centers, factories, warehouses, and other operational sites in the Asia-Pacific region, employing more than 1,350 people, with over 900 mineral processing plants in the region using its technology. This copper project order exceeding EUR 30 million further expands the company's supply scale of equipment and digital solutions for large-scale copper concentrator projects in Asia-Pacific.
