Grain Reserves in Kazakhstan Fell to 8.6 Mln Tons

Wedoany.com Report-Jun 17, As of June 1, Kazakhstan's total grain and pulse reserves exceeded 8.6 million tons, according to the Bureau of National Statistics. This includes more than 7.37 million tons of wheat, which forms the largest portion of the reserves.

Out of the total grain volume, food grain stocks amounted to over 7.26 million tons, seed reserves accounted for more than 541 thousand tons, and fodder reserves totaled over 837 thousand tons. Specifically, food wheat in storage surpassed 6.5 million tons, while wheat intended for seeding was recorded at more than 436 thousand tons. Fodder wheat made up over 408 thousand tons.

The distribution of stored grain varied across different sectors. Agricultural producers held over 3.35 million tons, elevators stored more than 2.67 million tons, and farms had over 1.25 million tons. Wholesale traders accounted for approximately 195.8 thousand tons, producers of organic chemicals stored more than 8.9 thousand tons, and feed producers had over 14 thousand tons. Flour millers held about 958.9 thousand tons, and other legal entities reported holding more than 178 thousand tons.

Barley reserves at the beginning of June totaled more than 670.8 thousand tons. Of this, food barley accounted for approximately 337.9 thousand tons, seed barley stood at around 63 thousand tons, and fodder barley was recorded at nearly 269.8 thousand tons.

Other grain and pulse stocks were as follows: corn reserves amounted to more than 65 thousand tons, rice stocks reached 131 thousand tons, rye was recorded at 11 thousand tons, oats at 151 thousand tons, and buckwheat at 56 thousand tons.

These reserve levels provide a snapshot of Kazakhstan’s grain storage status at the start of the month, indicating a stable supply distributed across various agricultural, industrial, and commercial entities.
