H2 MOBILITY Hydrogen Refueling Station at Hanover Airport in Germany Begins Trial Operation
en.Wedoany.com Reported - The newly built hydrogen refueling station of H2 MOBILITY near Hanover-Langenhagen Airport in Germany has officially entered trial operation, and commercial vehicles and passenger cars can now refuel at the station. The station is located in the multi-fuel service area of Hannover Airport, adjacent to the A2 and A7 highways and Hanover-Langenhagen Airport, and is situated along the European TEN-T North Sea-Baltic transport corridor.

The hydrogen refueling station is equipped with two dispensers and can provide refueling services for trucks, buses, and passenger cars, supplying green hydrogen that complies with the EU RFNBO standards. Vehicles can refuel at pressure levels of 350 bar, 500 bar, or 700 bar depending on the vehicle type, with a single full refueling time of approximately 5–10 minutes. H2 MOBILITY confirmed that the station meets the requirements of the EU Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) regarding alternative fuel refueling infrastructure.
The project received up to EUR 5.831 million in funding from the German Federal Ministry of Transport, with funds from the market activation measures related to the second phase of Germany's National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP 2), and also includes funding provided by the German Recovery and Resilience Plan through the EU NextGenerationEU Recovery and Resilience Facility. The relevant funding programme is coordinated by NOW GmbH and implemented by Projektträger Jülich.
The hydrogen refueling station is part of the Mundt Group's Hannover Airport multi-fuel service area. Following the start of trial operation, local logistics company Schreck + Batz Logistik simultaneously received a Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell fuel cell truck for real-world transport testing, with the test vehicle provided through cooperation between H2 MOBILITY and commercial vehicle leasing company hylane. In the coming weeks, the vehicle will operate on transport routes around Hanover previously served by diesel trucks, and is planned to be used for store deliveries for a retail chain.
