Construction of China Shenhuo Group's 50,000-ton sodium-ion battery aluminum foil project begins

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On the morning of September 16, the groundbreaking ceremony for Shenhuo Group's 50,000-ton-per-year high-performance sodium-ion battery aluminum foil project was held in the Shangqiu Demonstration Zone. This project is a key initiative by Shenhuo Group to implement Henan's strategy of building a strong manufacturing province and Shangqiu's strategy of building a strong manufacturing city, to deeply integrate into and serve the construction of a unified national market, to seize strategic opportunities in the new energy industry, and to accelerate the extension, supplementation, and strengthening of the industrial chain.

The project plans to build approximately 40,000 square meters of production workshops and an intelligent warehousing system, equipped with 3 sets of 1850mm and 3 sets of 2150mm aluminum foil rolling mills, slitting machines with integrated inspection functions, precision cutting machines, corona treaters, and other internationally advanced equipment. It will mainly produce battery aluminum foil for sodium-ion positive and negative electrodes in alloy grades such as 1070 and 1100 and with thicknesses of 8 to 20μm. The construction period is 24 months. After completion, the project will provide more than 300 jobs and generate annual profits and taxes of approximately 120 million yuan. It will fill the shortfall in aluminum foil production capacity at Shenhuo New Materials' Shangqiu base and form a processing capacity of 165,000 tons of aluminum foil.

In recent years, relying on its deep technical accumulation in aluminum processing, the Group has continued to deepen its presence in the battery aluminum foil sector, continuously advancing technological iteration and capacity expansion. After the project is completed and reaches full production, Shenhuo Aluminum Foil's total production capacity will reach 190,000 tons, firmly placing it in the industry's first tier. Its products cover fields such as high-end double-zero foil, power lithium batteries, and energy storage batteries. They will form synergistic complementarity with existing lithium battery aluminum foil capacity, achieve parallel development in both the lithium battery and sodium battery tracks, and continuously consolidate the company's competitive advantage in China's battery aluminum foil industry.
