en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, Glencore's subsidiary Glencore Pachón applied to the mining authority of San Juan Province, Argentina, for a statutory mining property survey of the Mondaca 9 mining property in the Calingasta area, covering an area of 259.30 hectares. The application corresponds to file number 1124-139-P-08, and the survey work will determine the boundary points and final mining property extent of the property in accordance with the registered coordinates. Mondaca 9 is located in the high-altitude region of the Andes Mountains, with some boundaries extending close to the international border between Argentina and Chile.

According to Resolution No. 83-DDM-2026 of the San Juan Provincial Mining Department, the relevant mining property survey notice must be published three times within 15 days and posted at the offices of the mining authority. The notice procedure provides for a 15-day objection period, during which holders of mining rights in the same area may file objections; Glencore Pachón must also submit proof to the competent authority within 30 days that the notice procedure has been completed.

Official mining records of San Juan Province show that Mondaca 9 had already completed deposit discovery registration in 2017 under the same file number, with registered minerals including silver, copper, and molybdenum, also covering an area of 259.30 hectares, and with Pachón S.A. as the registered entity. The mining property coordinates published at that time used the Gauss-Krüger PGA '94 coordinate system and recorded the boundary points of the mining property and the sample extraction locations.

The latest survey document lists adjacent mining properties including Mondaca 8, Mondaquita, and Pachón 13, Pachón 16, Pachón 18, Pachón 22, Pachón 23, and Pachón 27. Mining property information previously published by San Juan Province also listed Mondaca 9, Mondaca 8, Mondaquita, and multiple Pachón mining properties within the same high-altitude Calingasta mining area.

Glencore holds a 100% interest in the El Pachón copper-molybdenum project in San Juan. Company public information shows that El Pachón is currently in the feasibility study stage, with measured, indicated, and inferred mineral resources of approximately 6 billion tonnes, an average copper grade of 0.43%, and associated silver and molybdenum resources. Glencore previously submitted an application for Phase I of El Pachón under Argentina's Large Investment Incentive Regime, corresponding to a median capital investment of approximately US$9.5 billion.
