Valmet wins order for a complete high-end coated board line in Asia, to start production in 2028

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 23, Finland-based Valmet announced that it has won an order from an Asian customer for a high-end coated board production line, with the project scheduled to start operation in 2028. The order has been included in Valmet's new orders for the third quarter of 2026. The customer's name, the specific country where the project is located, and the contract value were not disclosed.

The scope of supply extends from the front-end stock preparation system to a complete board machine. The board machine equipment scope includes the headbox, forming section, press section, drying section, as well as reel and winder equipment, covering the main production stages of stock preparation, web forming, dewatering and drying, and finished reel handling, forming a complete coated board production equipment system.

The production line is also equipped with Valmet's automation systems and digital services, and is supplied with paper machine fabrics and a spare parts package. The automation and digital systems will be used for production process control, product quality management, and equipment operation monitoring, while the related spare parts and consumables correspond to the maintenance and continuous operation needs after the production line is commissioned.

The project's product positioning is high-end coated board. This order adopts a full-line delivery approach, incorporating stock preparation, board manufacturing, automatic control, and post-commissioning services into the same scope of supply. Valmet will subsequently advance equipment design, manufacturing, delivery, and commissioning in accordance with the project schedule, and align with the 2028 production line start-up milestone.
