en.Wedoany.com Reported - TrinaTracker, a business segment of Trinasolar, has launched two self-developed robotic solutions, respectively targeting module installation and module cleaning for utility-scale photovoltaic power plants, aiming to improve plant operational efficiency.

Among them, Buildex is a photovoltaic module installation robot that can autonomously complete module grasping, handling, alignment, and placement. The robot is equipped with AI visual positioning and industrial 3D cameras, enabling it to adapt to complex terrain and different tracker layouts.

According to TrinaTracker, Buildex can install up to 90 modules per hour, three to four times faster than manual labor. Its height-adjustable robot base features a 17° platform leveling capability, compatible with both fixed-tilt and tracking systems, and supports 1P and 2P modules. The company states that the robot can operate around the clock, helping to shorten installation cycles and reduce labor and construction costs.

The other product, Aurora, is a photovoltaic module cleaning robot designed for unattended cyclic cleaning scenarios. TrinaTracker says the robot is self-powered, adopts high-performance hardware and proprietary self-correction algorithms, ensures power generation by keeping modules clean, and reduces long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) costs. On complex sites, Aurora can overcome height deviations of up to 50 mm to achieve continuous cleaning.

TrinaTracker regards its AI robotic products as a practical extension of its tracker systems, a strategic move linked to the company's judgment that future reductions in the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) will increasingly depend on automation.

"Over the past decade, the cost of photovoltaics has dropped significantly, and the room for conventional cost reduction has narrowed," the company said. "Further optimization must come from AI-assisted design, lower operating expenses, more efficient O&M, faster construction speeds, and lower execution risks."

TrinaTracker stated that it will continue to expand its robotic product portfolio and deepen AI integration to strengthen its photovoltaic tracker ecosystem.

"TrinaTracker's investment in AI and robotics is not just hardware iteration, but a strategic upgrade of its full-stack tracker smart energy ecosystem," the company said.

"By integrating highly reliable trackers, AI algorithms, installation and cleaning robots, as well as engineering and intelligent O&M services, the company optimizes plant design, improves construction and O&M quality, reduces operating costs, and provides full-lifecycle solutions for photovoltaic power plants."
