German Wendler Interlining Factory in Bangladesh Officially Opens
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 3, Wendler Interlining Bangladesh Limited, under Germany's Wendler Interlining Group, held the official opening ceremony of its new factory in Trishal, Mymensingh District, Bangladesh. The facility has obtained LEED Gold green building certification and handles local production, warehousing, quality management, and technical support for garment interlinings, directly serving Bangladesh's ready-made garment manufacturers.

The Trishal facility's production processes cover bleaching, dyeing, coating, and cutting, and it is equipped with an in-house laboratory and quality management system. The plant also serves warehousing and distribution functions, with current storage capacity of approximately 1 million meters of interlining, providing local inventory and delivery services to Bangladesh's major garment manufacturing clusters.
Wendler entered the Bangladeshi market in 2009 and established a local wholly-owned subsidiary and a Dhaka sales office in 2022. The new facility is located in Trishal, close to major garment manufacturers such as Square Apparels, Interfab/Viyellatex, and Ha-Meem Group, forming a local business system that integrates production with sales, warehousing, and technical services.
The factory roof is equipped with a solar power system, expected to generate approximately 238,000 to 272,000 kWh annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 140 to 160 tons per year. The facility also features a rainwater reuse system for landscape irrigation and adopts a high-efficiency HVAC system to reduce building operational energy consumption.
The project's construction plan was first made public in 2024, when Wendler confirmed it would build a LEED Gold-certified production facility in Mymensingh and planned to establish a green textile production base through measures such as solar power, energy-saving systems, reduced chemical use, and production waste control. The project subsequently formed production facilities in 2025, with the official opening ceremony held in October 2026.
Wendler mainly produces fusible and non-fusible interlinings used in shirts, outerwear, and other garment structural parts. The company currently has production facilities in Germany, Vietnam, Bangladesh, China, and India, with its Vietnam and Bangladesh factories both having obtained LEED Gold certification. With the Bangladesh facility in operation, interlining production, testing, warehousing, and customer technical support can be completed locally.
