en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 7, Petrobras won 19 oil and gas exploration blocks in the Sixth Permanent Concession Bidding Round held by Brazil's National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), with a signing bonus bid of approximately R$3 billion, covering the Campos Basin and the Ceará Basin. Among them, the winning bid for 12 blocks in the Campos Basin was approximately R$2.97 billion; the 7 blocks in the Ceará Basin were jointly won by Petrobras and QatarEnergy, with the two parties holding 70% and 30% interests respectively. The blocks won in this round will be operated under the concession regime, and subsequent required procedures must be completed and formal contracts signed.

The bid amounts in the Campos Basin were mainly concentrated in the SC-AUP1 exploration segment, where the signing bonuses for 8 blocks totaled approximately R$2.94 billion, and the investment corresponding to the minimum work program during the exploration phase was approximately R$1.32 billion. Among them, the winning bid for block C-M-115 was approximately R$754.2 million, while the minimum bid bonus was R$3.57 million, representing a premium of more than 21,000%. In the bidding for the same block, the consortium formed by TotalEnergies and QatarEnergy bid approximately R$27.5 million.

In the SC-AUP1 segment, 5 blocks saw competition between Petrobras and the aforementioned consortium, with the competitive blocks also including C-M-113, C-M-163 and C-M-216. The blocks won by Petrobras in the Campos Basin are all held by it alone, with no co-shareholding by partners. The Ceará Basin adopted a consortium participation approach, and the interest structures in the two basins were determined separately.

In the Sixth Permanent Concession Bidding Round, a total of 49 oil and gas exploration blocks and 3 marginal oil and gas resource areas were awarded. The total signing bonuses for exploration blocks announced by ANP amounted to approximately R$3.006 billion, with planned investment in the first exploration phase of approximately R$1.582 billion. A total of 10 companies submitted bids, of which 9 won. The winning companies and consortia must still submit relevant documents and pay the signing bonuses, and the formal concession contracts are scheduled to be signed no later than February 26, 2027.
