China's Second Domestically Built Large Cruise Ship to Operate from Hong Kong as Home Port in 2027
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 9, Adora Cruises announced in Hong Kong, China the 2027 home port season and product arrangements for the second domestically built large cruise ship, the "Adora Flora City," with plans to operate 19 cruise voyages from Hong Kong as its home port throughout the year, including 3 ocean cruises to nowhere. The cruise ship will embark on its maiden voyage from Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port on November 22, 2026, with its first stop in Hong Kong, and will launch a Hong Kong New Year's Eve overnight voyage on December 30.

According to the season arrangements, the 2027 Hong Kong home port operations are divided into three phases: late March to early May, late June to late July, and late October to early November. International routes include 5-day/4-night and 6-day/5-night short-haul voyages to destinations such as Vietnam and South Korea, as well as 9-day/8-night and 10-day/9-night long-haul voyages covering Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. The ocean cruises to nowhere are arranged as 2-to-3-night sailings, with published fares starting at approximately HK$1,150 per person.
The "Adora Flora City" is built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and is the sister ship of the first domestically built large cruise ship, the "Adora Magic City." The cruise ship has a total length of 341 meters, a gross tonnage of 141,900, and 2,130 guest rooms and suites, accommodating up to 5,232 passengers. Onboard facilities include 28 restaurants and bars, as well as a theater, shopping center, art gallery, gym, spa, and children's activity facilities.
The cruise ship was floated out on March 20, 2026, began sea trials on May 16, and completed a 12-day sea trial mission on May 27. During the sea trials, 45 commissioning procedures and 149 test verifications were completed, covering items such as the main propulsion system, ship maneuverability, speed endurance, vibration and noise, and automation systems. According to the previously announced construction plan, the cruise ship is expected to be delivered on November 6, after which it will enter the preparation phase for its maiden voyage.
Adora Cruises announced in April 2026 the maiden season routes departing from Guangzhou and planned to begin selling tickets on May 20. This Hong Kong press conference further clarified the 2027 Hong Kong home port season, international route arrangements, and ocean cruise products. The company plans to organize cruise operations around the three ports of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, and increase Hong Kong home port voyages.
