en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 9 local time, the first reverse power transmission of Unit 2 of the 1 GW Ratawi Solar PV Project, the largest photovoltaic project under construction in Iraq, undertaken by the consortium of China Energy Engineering International Group, Tianjin Electric Power Construction, and Southwest Electric Power Design Institute, was achieved successfully on the first attempt. The system operated stably and equipment parameters were normal, laying a solid foundation for achieving full-capacity grid-connected power generation of Unit 2.

As a milestone node in power station construction, reverse power transmission is a comprehensive test of engineering design, equipment installation, system commissioning, and safety management. To ensure the success of this reverse power transmission on the first attempt, the project team carried out overall planning and meticulous deployment, conducting specialized preparatory work around key aspects such as construction organization, equipment commissioning, system joint debugging, risk control, and emergency support, and fully implementing work permits, energy isolation, risk identification, and on-site safety control measures to ensure safety control throughout the entire process.

The 1 GW Ratawi Solar PV Power Station Project in Iraq is located approximately 70 kilometers east of Basra, Iraq, and is Iraq's first large-scale centralized photovoltaic power station. After completion, the project is expected to provide approximately 2,876 GWh of clean electricity to the local area each year, equivalent to reducing approximately 2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. It will significantly increase Iraq's share of renewable energy and is of great significance for promoting the transformation of the local energy structure and advancing green and low-carbon development.

At present, the project has entered the sprint stage for full-capacity grid-connected power generation of Unit 2. Next, the project department will continue to closely follow the milestone targets, steadily advance subsequent grid-connection preparation work, and ensure that all construction tasks are completed with high quality and high standards.
