Weatherford Awarded Completion Systems Orders for Two Major Offshore Oilfields in Norway

Under the latest award arrangement, Weatherford has been selected as the primary completion systems supplier for the Statfjord and Oseberg license areas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, with the scope of services covering offshore well construction, completion, and subsequent production operations.

Under the extension agreements, Weatherford will continue to provide Equinor with integrated completion technologies and equipment, covering wellbore completion, downhole production systems, and related technical services throughout the oil and gas well lifecycle. This new award covers the Statfjord and Oseberg license areas, expanding Weatherford's scope of equipment supply in Equinor's Norwegian offshore oil and gas development and production operations.

The Statfjord field is located near the maritime border between Norway and the United Kingdom in the North Sea and is one of the major long-producing oil and gas assets on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Equinor operates the field and continues to carry out well development, production maintenance, and field life extension work. The Oseberg oil and gas field is located in the Norwegian North Sea, also operated by Equinor, with its facilities handling crude oil and natural gas production and processing.

This agreement comprises two distinct commercial arrangements: first, several existing strategic framework agreements have been extended by two years; second, Weatherford has newly secured qualification as the primary completion systems supplier for the two oilfield license areas.
