en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 12, the contractor prequalification for the main works of the Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II International Stadium in Jordan entered the application submission stage, with participating companies preparing to submit their prequalification materials by October 14. The project is being developed by the Jordanian Company for the Development of Cities and Facilities, located in the first-phase development area of Amra City, covering an area of approximately 1 million square meters, with a planned spectator capacity of 46,000 seats. The main works are scheduled to commence in early 2027 and are expected to be completed in 2029.

Amra City is located east of Amman, approximately 40 kilometers from the city center and approximately 35 kilometers from Zarqa and Queen Alia International Airport. The stadium is one of the first key public facilities in the city's development plan, organized and implemented by a project development company under the Jordan Investment Fund.

The project commenced preliminary site construction on June 14, 2026, including construction site logistics preparation, ground leveling, and foundation excavation. The site works are carried out prior to the main structure construction, with plans to transition to the main construction phase after completing the relevant preliminary preparations.

Supporting works for the stadium include 2 training pitches, parking facilities capable of accommodating approximately 6,000 cars and buses, as well as athlete and spectator service facilities. The transportation system is planned to connect with local public transit stations and bus rapid transit lines, with green areas arranged around the stadium.

The project adopts a stadium design that integrates local architectural features, with plans to equip technical facilities for sports event operations and incorporate energy and water resource management measures into the building and operational systems. The developer has announced a planned stadium site area of 1,006,889 square meters and a designed seating capacity of 46,000.
