en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, German renewable energy developer Juwi and Pacifico Energy Partners announced the sale of the under-construction 24 MW Gyhum wind farm in Gyhum-Hesedorf, Rotenburg (Wümme) district, Lower Saxony, to the Energy Invest Mittelhessen 1 fund managed by Union Investment, with Pacifico acting as acquisition advisor to the buyer.

The Gyhum wind farm consists of four Vestas V162 turbines with a hub height of 169 meters and a rotor diameter of 162 meters, totaling 24 MW of installed capacity; a fifth turbine of the same model will be separately received by a local operator consortium. The project is currently under construction, with Juwi responsible for construction, and is expected to be commissioned in early 2027. The turbines were originally planned to use the GE 5.53 MW model, but were later changed to the Vestas V162, with unit capacity increased to 6.0 MW, hub height increased from 161 meters to 169 meters, rotor diameter increased from 158 meters to 162 meters, and total turbine height reaching 250 meters. The project is expected to generate approximately 73 million kWh annually, sufficient to meet the annual electricity demand of about 25,000 households, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 55,300 tons per year compared with conventional power generation.

The buyer, the Energy Invest Mittelhessen 1 fund, was jointly launched in 2024 by Union Investment, Pacifico Energy Partners, and Volksbank Mittelhessen, with a target size of up to 150 million euros. Its investment focus is solar power plants, wind farms, and battery energy storage projects. It previously acquired an operational 24.4 MWp solar power plant in Schleswig-Holstein in March.

Juwi was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Wörrstadt, Rhineland-Palatinate. It is a German renewable energy project developer focusing on the full-process development, construction, and operational management of wind and solar projects, with approximately 1,350 employees worldwide and branches in 8 countries. The company has built more than 2,000 solar power plants with a total capacity of more than 4,000 MW, and has installed approximately 1,300 wind turbines with a total capacity of approximately 3,000 MW, generating approximately 11 billion kWh annually. Juwi is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mannheim-based MVV Energie Group.
