Ecuador Delivers 61 Units of Agricultural Machinery and Transport Vehicles to 11 Provinces with Over USD 2 Million Investment

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, Ecuador's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries held a delivery event for agricultural machinery and transport vehicles in Ambato, Tungurahua Province. President Daniel Noboa handed over 27 tractors and 34 pickup trucks to agricultural producers across 11 provinces nationwide, with a total investment exceeding USD 2 million, benefiting 3,207 farming households. This delivery is part of the equipment allocation plan under the country's Comprehensive Project for Agricultural Production Diversification and Agricultural Transformation.

The 27 tractors delivered in this round represent a procurement investment of USD 1.43 million and are allocated to agricultural producer organizations, benefiting 3,173 farming households. The tractors will be used for mechanized production operations such as farmland leveling and tillage preparation. Farmer Edgar Sisalima from Azuay Province, representing the beneficiary organizations, stated that the newly added machinery will be used to replace part of the manual land preparation work.

The 34 pickup trucks delivered in the same period represent a procurement investment of USD 612,000 and are mainly used to transport agricultural products, production supplies, and farming tools to purchasing stations, collection centers, and agricultural product markets. Agricultural producer Juan Pablo Vargas from Chambo, Chimborazo Province, participated in this delivery event, and farmers in his area will use the vehicles for daily transportation of agricultural products.

Ecuador's Comprehensive Project for Agricultural Production Diversification and Agricultural Transformation targets small and medium-sized agricultural producers, providing farmland operation machinery and agricultural product transport vehicles. The project continued machinery and vehicle deliveries throughout 2026. As of September 28, a cumulative total of 390 tractors and 156 pickup trucks had been allocated. The procurement budget for related machinery and vehicles in 2026 is USD 32.55 million.
