Upon completion, the channel water depth will reach 14.5-15.3 meters below chart datum, capable of accommodating the navigation needs of 14,000 TEU ultra-large container ships and 180,000 DWT Capesize bulk carriers. It will comprehensively enhance the overall operational conditions of Maputo Port and strengthen Maputo's core position as a regional trade gateway in Southeast Africa.
