en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, Canadian packaging manufacturer CuBE Packaging Solutions announced that it will invest more than $30 million to expand its plastic food container production plant in St. Charles, Illinois, USA. The project includes renovation of existing facilities, phased installation of high-speed injection molding equipment, and integrated end-of-line automation systems. The first phase of the expansion has been completed and put into production, while subsequent phases are underway and are planned to continue through 2027.

The plant was officially put into operation at the end of 2025 and serves as CuBE Packaging Solutions' primary manufacturing base in the United States. This expansion will upgrade existing production facilities and add high-speed injection molding production equipment in batches, along with end-of-line automation systems, to expand the manufacturing capacity for reusable food containers in the United States.

The expansion project will produce polypropylene food containers suitable for microwave heating, dishwasher cleaning, and frozen storage. The products will primarily supply retailers, grocery companies, restaurant chains, and foodservice customers in the United States and Canada, covering applications such as takeout delivery, food storage, and retailer private-label packaging.

Philippe Erhart, CEO of CuBE Packaging Solutions, stated that the St. Charles plant will handle production for U.S. customer orders. The company expects this expansion to add manufacturing jobs in St. Charles and the surrounding Fox Valley area. The company also operates a food container injection molding manufacturing base in Aurora, Ontario, Canada, with the two plants respectively handling production supply for the North American market.
