en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 19, Nscale, a UK-based data center developer backed by Nvidia, is in negotiations with U.S. artificial intelligence company Anthropic over a new computing power supply agreement valued at approximately $45 billion. The proposed cooperation involves the second building at the Monarch data center campus in West Virginia, USA, with a planned computing infrastructure capacity of 460 megawatts, intended to use Nvidia Vera Rubin AI chips. The two parties are still negotiating the terms of the agreement.

The two parties reached their first computing power leasing agreement worth approximately $45 billion in August 2026, covering the first data center facility at the Monarch campus. The second agreement under negotiation will correspond to another separate facility. Anthropic also holds a right of first refusal for the planned third facility at the campus, with specific cooperation arrangements still to be determined through negotiation between the two parties.

Nscale is proceeding with an initial public offering in the United States, and its prospectus lists Microsoft and Anthropic as major future customers. The company's cumulative contract value since its founding has grown from $100 million to over $103 billion. Recently, Microsoft withdrew from Nscale's flagship UK data center leasing deal due to grid connection delays, and the expected power supply timeline for the relevant facility has been postponed to the 2030s.
