en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 20, CATL released the Tianxing II heavy-duty truck "4+1" series battery solutions in Beijing, introducing products including the rear-mounted ultra-light version, ultra-thin version, underfloor series, and the battery-extender version. Among them, the battery-extender version combines an underfloor swap main drive battery with a rear-mounted range-extender battery. The main drive battery offers two capacity options of 432 kWh and 513 kWh, while the range-extender battery has a capacity of 77 kWh. CATL also announced plans to build 900 heavy-duty truck battery swap stations by the end of 2026 and 2,000 by 2027, with a long-term target of 10,000 stations.

The Tianxing II heavy-duty truck series covers two battery layout configurations: rear-mounted and chassis-mounted. The rear-mounted ultra-light version offers two battery capacity configurations of 450 kWh and 600 kWh, corresponding to range figures of 300 km and 400 km respectively; the rear-mounted ultra-thin version has a battery thickness of 580 mm, which can increase cargo box volume by 3 cubic meters. The underfloor short-wheelbase version supports a 3.2-meter wheelbase configuration, while the underfloor long-range version has a maximum capacity of 760 kWh, a nominal range of 600 km, and adopts an 800 V high-voltage platform.

The battery-extender version designs the swappable main drive battery and the onboard range-extender battery as two independently operating battery systems. The main drive battery is recharged through the Qiji battery swap system, while the rear-mounted range-extender battery is carried onboard. The two systems can switch power supply according to the vehicle's operating requirements. Mass production of this solution was announced at the launch event, with the first batch of signed orders reaching 13,000 units.

CATL simultaneously launched the Qiji battery swap full-ecosystem solution, released a battery leasing policy and two cooperation models — "Qiji Battery Partner" and "Qiji Charging Partner" — and jointly initiated battery swap ecosystem construction with 14 partners.
