Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 28, CoreWeave, a New Jersey-based cloud provider, signed a new contract with OpenAI on September 25, valued at up to $6.5 billion, to supply GPU-optimized cloud infrastructure for advanced AI model development. This agreement brings the total value of contracts between the two companies in 2025 to approximately $22.4 billion, following a $11.9 billion deal in March and a $4 billion expansion in May.

The latest contract enhances CoreWeave’s role as a key infrastructure provider for OpenAI, delivering large-scale computing capacity for AI training and inference workloads. CoreWeave’s data centers, optimized for Nvidia hardware clusters, support the high-performance needs of AI developers, positioning the company as a vital partner in OpenAI’s supply chain.

Michael Intrator, CoreWeave’s co-founder and chief executive, stated: “This agreement demonstrates the trust OpenAI places in our infrastructure to support some of the most demanding workloads in the world. It also reflects the diversification of our business as we scale globally.” The deal underscores CoreWeave’s growing capability to meet the demands of large-scale AI operations.

The contract supports the Stargate initiative, a collaborative effort involving CoreWeave, Oracle, SoftBank, and other partners to secure approximately 10 gigawatts of computing power in the coming years. With this agreement, Stargate is on track to deliver 7 gigawatts of planned capacity, backed by investments exceeding $400 billion. Additionally, CoreWeave recently signed a $63 billion agreement with Nvidia to purchase hardware and resell unused cloud capacity, further strengthening its infrastructure capabilities.

CoreWeave, which went public earlier in 2025, is diversifying its partnerships beyond its historical reliance on Microsoft, an early backer and OpenAI partner. The company is also expanding globally, with new data center investments in the UK valued at £1.5 billion. These efforts enhance CoreWeave’s ability to support the growing global demand for AI infrastructure while contributing to economic growth through job creation and technological innovation.

The partnership with OpenAI highlights the increasing need for specialized cloud infrastructure to power advanced AI applications, positioning CoreWeave as a leader in the sector and supporting the broader adoption of AI technologies worldwide.
