Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 21, Telehouse has announced plans for a new data centre, Telehouse West Two, set for completion in 2028. The facility will be purpose-built to support the rapid adoption of emerging technologies such as AI and will integrate both air and liquid cooling systems to meet the growing demand for high-density computing environments. The design aims to allow customers to scale operations without compromise.

The new centre will feature two meet-me rooms and four dedicated secure connectivity risers, enhancing network access and interconnectivity. Kenkichi Honda, managing director at Telehouse Europe, said: “The new Telehouse West Two site marks another important step in our ongoing mission to deliver world-class, sustainable digital infrastructure. This expansion will empower digital transformation for enterprise clients across multiple sectors, enabling them to benefit from emerging technologies which are shaping the future world, while supporting the uncompromising need for energy efficiency and carbon neutrality.”

Telehouse West Two is part of one of Europe’s most connected data centre campuses, designed with sustainability, resiliency, and security at its core. The centre will offer a 99.999% uptime guarantee to prevent operational interruptions.

Key specifications include a nine-storey building covering a total gross area of 32,000 m², equipped with switchgear, UPS systems, chilled water cooling, and floor-by-floor ventilation. The facility will be powered by two new 132kV substations, with each floor capable of delivering up to 4.4MW of power. Physical security features include advanced threat detection, 24/7 surveillance, and on-site security personnel.

The centre is designed to BREEAM Excellent standards and will operate entirely on 100% renewable energy. Telehouse also aims for high efficiency with low Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), while supporting sustainability goals such as heat recovery and HVO-fuelled backup generators.

Construction and fit-out will be managed by Flynn Management & Contracting Ltd, with mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems delivered in collaboration with Jones Engineering Group.

Telehouse West Two represents a pivotal moment in the company’s strategy to expand its presence in London, where it has operated for over 35 years. The new facility is intended to meet rising demand for advanced digital infrastructure, supporting businesses in digitally transforming and leveraging emerging technologies while maintaining energy efficiency and sustainability.

By combining cutting-edge cooling technologies, renewable power, and robust security measures, Telehouse West Two is positioned to deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure for enterprise clients, reinforcing Telehouse’s leadership in the European data centre market.
