Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 27, Nokia has announced the extension of its long-term partnership with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), one of Vietnam’s major telecommunications operators, through a new agreement to upgrade and expand radio infrastructure across the country. The project focuses on the Hanoi area, border provinces, and the southern region, marking an important step toward enhancing national digital connectivity.

Under the agreement, Nokia will deploy advanced equipment from its AirScale portfolio, featuring energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology. This technology aims to deliver high-quality connectivity, lower latency, and increased network capacity while optimizing power consumption. The scope of the partnership also includes comprehensive network management services to maintain stable performance and reliability across VNPT’s expanding network.

The planned upgrade is expected to substantially improve mobile coverage quality, particularly in border regions and key economic and social areas. Enhanced telecommunications infrastructure will provide better access to digital transformation services for individuals and businesses across multiple provinces. This development aligns with Vietnam’s broader objectives of promoting economic growth and advancing national digital inclusion.

The agreement also reinforces Nokia’s long-term commitment to Vietnam’s telecommunications sector. In 2024, Nokia designated Vietnam as a manufacturing hub for its AirScale equipment, supplying both domestic and international markets. The establishment of this hub not only supports the company’s regional operations but also contributes to Vietnam’s economic development and supply chain integration within the Asia-Pacific region.

Huynh Quang Liem, CEO of VNPT, stated: “Extending our partnership with Nokia is an important step in strengthening Vietnam’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure, reaffirming our commitment to meeting the growing connectivity and digital service needs of people, businesses, and government. With Nokia’s advanced technology, we aim to deliver world-class services and support Vietnam’s digital transformation goals.”

Hiro Miura, Head of Southeast Asia Market Unit at Nokia, commented: “We are proud to deepen our partnership with VNPT and contribute to Vietnam’s digital future. Our advanced technology delivers outstanding performance, enabling VNPT to provide faster, more reliable connectivity, especially in key border regions and major economic and social centers. This expansion will give people and businesses better access to essential digital services, driving economic growth and enhancing quality of life.”

The strengthened collaboration between Nokia and VNPT demonstrates continued progress in expanding Vietnam’s modern telecommunications infrastructure. By integrating next-generation network solutions and focusing on high-performance connectivity, the partnership supports the country’s long-term vision for sustainable digital transformation and inclusive growth across all regions.
