Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 17, Tesla has officially presented its latest and fastest Model Y at the Everything Electric show in Melbourne. The event took place from 14–16 November at the showgrounds, where the company showcased an ultra-red example of the upgraded model. At the same time, Tesla announced on its X page that a new paint option, Marine Blue, will join the lineup. For now, this color will only be available on the new Model Y Performance variant.
These updates arrive within two months of the vehicle’s release in Australia and mark the first locally available Tesla model produced at the company’s Berlin factory in Europe. In September this year, Tesla introduced the performance version of the refreshed Model Y in Australia, bringing significant upgrades compared with the existing Long Range model. The earlier generation of the Model Y Performance had been removed from the configurator after the refreshed Model Y debuted in January 2025.
The new Model Y Performance is priced at $89,400 before on-road costs, placing it more than $20,500 above the current dual-motor Long Range version. It includes several enhancements to its performance profile. As of the end of October 2025, the Model Y remained one of Australia’s most popular electric SUVs, with nearly 18,000 units sold.
The updated Performance variant delivers 580 km of range, improving on the previous generation’s 514 km. Its 343 kW dual-motor powertrain enables faster acceleration, completing the 0–100 km/h sprint in 3.5 seconds, down from 3.7 seconds. According to Tesla, the key upgrades include a new exterior design, a dedicated performance powertrain, adaptive suspension, unique drive modes, 21″ Arachnid 2.0 wheels, carbon-fibre interior trims, a 16″ first-row QHD touchscreen, and first-row performance sport seats equipped with thigh extension, heating and ventilation.
The revised exterior features a redesigned front bumper with a more dynamic appearance, along with a rear carbon-fibre lip spoiler. The new 21-inch wheels replace the Uberturbine wheels used on the previous version. Similar to the Model 3 Performance, the new Model Y Performance offers adaptive suspension and specialized drive modes, available only on Tesla’s top-tier variants.
Inside the cabin, the model includes enhanced carbon-fibre elements on the dashboard and new sports seats designed to provide greater support and comfort. Heating and ventilation functions are also included. Local deliveries of the new Model Y Performance are scheduled to begin before Christmas. For customers placing new orders, the configurator lists an estimated delivery window between February 2026 and April 2026.
The updated model is expected to undergo further road evaluations in the coming weeks as interest continues to grow around its latest performance enhancements.
