Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 27, Toyo Engineering Corporation, based in Tokyo, has been selected to provide its proprietary urea granulation technology for Kazakhstan's first urea production plant, developed by KazAzot Prime LLP.

The facility will enable local manufacturing of urea fertilizer, with output primarily dedicated to supporting agricultural needs within the country.

Under the agreement, Toyo will act as the technology licensor, supplying the license for its urea granulation process, a complete Process Design Package, key equipment, and associated technical services. The full engineering, procurement, and construction work will be handled by Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese engineering company.

Toyo's technology was chosen due to its proven performance in more than 100 urea projects worldwide. The company's prior successful cooperation with Wuhuan on earlier projects also contributed to the selection.

The new plant represents an important development for Kazakhstan's chemical fertilizer industry, establishing domestic production capacity for a product widely used to enhance crop yields. Once operational, the facility will help meet local demand for high-quality urea granules suitable for various farming applications.

Toyo's granulation process is recognized for producing uniform, high-strength granules that resist breakage during handling and storage, while maintaining efficient nutrient release in the field. This technology supports reliable and sustainable fertilizer production.

The partnership between Toyo, KazAzot Prime LLP, and Wuhuan combines international expertise with local objectives, ensuring the project meets global standards for safety, efficiency, and environmental performance. Construction progress will mark a steady advancement toward operational readiness, contributing to Kazakhstan's agricultural sector and broader economic goals.
