This places France in 19th position in the World Steel Association's global production ranking. From January to November this year, France's cumulative steel production reached 9.02 million tons, a reduction of 9.8% compared to the same period last year, with the average monthly production also dropping to 820,200 tons.

From a broader regional perspective, the steel production for the entire European Union in November 2025 fell by 3.5% year-on-year to 10.2 million tons. The cumulative production from January to November this year was 116.1 million tons, down 3.3% year-on-year.
