Spanish contractor Sacyr has successfully completed a $146 million highway project located in Texas, USA. The newly constructed highway section is in Diboll and forms part of US Route 59, which will eventually be incorporated into Interstate 69.

Sacyr stated that the new US-59 highway section spans 13.2 kilometers. The completion of this new segment is significant as it greatly enhances local traffic connectivity and optimizes traffic flow conditions along this important Texas roadway. The new section bypasses the town of Diboll, effectively reducing traffic volume through the town and consequently decreasing the number of intersections and traffic lights. This not only improves road safety in Diboll but also enhances the overall safety of the entire highway while reducing travel time for drivers.

During the project implementation, major works encompassed several aspects. Twenty-eight bridges were constructed to provide additional traffic passages; 12,000 meters of concrete guardrails were installed to enhance road protection; and over 172,000 tons of asphalt pavement were laid to ensure a smooth and durable road surface.
