Wedoany.com News, Germany and India recently signed cooperation agreements in multiple fields including hydrogen energy and renewable energy, and reached a memorandum of understanding on the supply of critical minerals, aiming to strengthen bilateral strategic cooperation and supply chain security.

The agreement was reached during the visit of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to India. Both sides agreed to establish a "German-Indian Centre of Excellence" as a joint platform for knowledge exchange and technological innovation to deepen cooperation in areas such as renewable energy. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the two countries are committed to building secure, trustworthy, and resilient supply chains. The German side indicated that the cooperation helps reduce dependence on single markets for critical raw materials and technologies in the energy transition. This comes against the backdrop of Germany and Europe's wind power industry having launched a "Resilience Roadmap" aimed at reducing dependence on Chinese permanent magnets. Additionally, the two countries also signed agreements covering security, health, and artificial intelligence.
