Wedoany.com Report on Feb 3rd, the CH-YH-1000S, the world's first hybrid-powered unmanned cargo aircraft developed by the 11th Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), successfully completed its maiden flight in Liangping, Chongqing.

This model from CASC is another new aircraft rapidly iterated to meet the needs of the global market, following the successful maiden flight of the CH-YH-1000 unmanned cargo aircraft in May 2025. For its maiden flight, it was equipped with a high-power hybrid powertrain jointly developed with leading new energy vehicle enterprises. This significantly shortened takeoff and landing distances, increased payload capacity and range, and successfully completed airborne performance verification. It represents a significant innovative exploration in China, marking the first cross-industry integration of core technologies between the UAV and automotive industries. By deeply sharing supply chain resources and adopting modular production, it has substantially reduced the research, development, and manufacturing costs of UAVs. It is a model example of jointly targeting the new track of unmanned logistics in the low-altitude economy and accelerating the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation.

The CH-YH-1000S model is a large unmanned cargo aircraft designed and developed by the 11th Academy of CASC in compliance with airworthiness standards. It can play a significant carrying role in areas such as international logistics transportation and delivery, emergency rescue and disaster relief, weather modification, ocean monitoring, and maritime supervision.
