Wedoany.com Report-Oct 14, Dongfang has unveiled a 26MW turbine, with the Chinese manufacturer revealing pictures of the machine’s giant nacelle at its factory in Fuzhou, Fujian Province.
The machine is the world's largest single-machine capacity offshore model, with a blade diameter of 310 metres and hub height of 185 metres.
The company said the hardware is composed of more than 30,000 parts and has super typhoon resistance, safety and reliability, and excellent power generation performance.
The manufacturer added the hardware is designed for medium and high wind speed sea areas with a wind speed of more than 8 metres per second, the unit engineering cost is low, the operation and maintenance cost is low, which can provide a lower electricity metering cost and fully adapt to the parity requirements.
With average winds of 10m/s, Dongfang said a single unit can generate 100GWh of clean energy annually, powering 55,000 homes, cutting standard coal consumption by 30,000 tons and reducing CO2 emissions by 80,000 tons.
