Wedoany.com Report on Feb 5th, As the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush has officially begun, self-driving on highways has become the mainstream mode of travel. Addressing the "long-distance energy replenishment" challenge that concerns many new energy vehicle owners, China's capital, Beijing, has accelerated the construction and renovation of charging facilities in expressway service areas. Currently, super charging piles have achieved full coverage across all expressway service areas.

According to information from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, a total of 42 ultra-fast charging stations were built in Beijing in 2025, located across 12 service areas on various expressways, better serving vehicle owners' needs for rapid charging. Currently, the 16 service areas in Beijing are equipped with 530 charging piles, providing 674 charging parking spaces, which account for 26% of the total passenger car parking spaces. Among these, there are 66 super charging piles, achieving full coverage of service areas. The most powerful ones have a maximum output of 600kW, enabling efficient energy replenishment for passenger cars in as fast as 15 minutes, offering new energy vehicle owners a rapid charging experience "just like refueling."

During the Spring Festival travel rush support period, expressway operation units will also deploy 12 mobile charging vehicles to key high-traffic service areas such as those along the Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Harbin, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, and Beijing-Kunming expressways. Additionally, on-site staffing will be increased to ensure the safe and orderly use of charging facilities and to maximize service support for vehicles requiring charging.
