Wedoany.com Report on Feb 7th, the renovation project for Rue des Martyrs in Gerzat, Puy-de-Dôme, France, was officially completed. Representatives from the Clermont Auvergne Métropole and local municipal authorities jointly attended the inauguration ceremony. The project, which lasted approximately two years, aimed to carry out a sustainable modernization upgrade for the city center's main thoroughfare.

The renovation project was led by the Métropole and implemented in collaboration with municipal institutions, beginning with a comprehensive renewal of underground infrastructure. The drinking water supply and sewage networks were refurbished, enhancing water supply stability, optimizing sewage discharge efficiency, and improving the stormwater management system. These underground works laid a crucial foundation for the subsequent above-ground renovation.
The second phase of the project, which began in 2025, focused on road reconfiguration. Rue des Martyrs now features a central shared lane supporting multiple modes of transportation. Intersections were redesigned, a new double-roundabout structure was added, and pedestrian walkway areas were widened. The project also involved planting approximately twenty trees, enhancing the street's aesthetic appeal and environmental friendliness.
