CNNC Tongchuang (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd. (CNNC Tongchuang) is affiliated with the Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP) of the nuclear industry. SWIP is China's earliest professional research institute dedicated to controlled nuclear fusion and plasma physics research. It is the core force in the R&D of fusion reactors under China's "three-step" nuclear energy development strategy and a crucial supporting unit for China's participation in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project. Its independently designed and constructed new-generation artificial sun, the "China Circulator-3" (HL-3) device, is China's largest and highest-parameter advanced tokamak device. Its technical level ranks among the top tier internationally, laying a solid foundation for the development of China's nuclear fusion energy.
This successful bid marks another major breakthrough for CNNC Motor in helium fan product R&D, following the successful delivery of the high-temperature gas suspension helium fan to China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. It not only signifies that CNNC Motor's magnetic levitation and gas levitation technologies have successfully bridged the two major application scenarios of fusion reactors and high-temperature gas-cooled reactors but also demonstrates the company's robust capabilities in the independent R&D of high-end nuclear energy equipment.
