Wedoany.com Report on Feb 26th, Cargo throughput at the Port of Cádiz in January of this year amounted to 379,932 tons, representing a 20.8% decrease compared to the same period last year. According to port authorities, this decline is primarily attributed to the stormy weather that has affected the bay area in recent weeks.
In terms of specific cargo types, liquid bulk throughput reached 57,220 tons this month, a 74.21% increase compared to January 2025. Solid bulk throughput, however, totaled 130,157 tons, marking a 44.28% year-on-year decrease.
The cumulative total for general cargo was 182,286 tons, reflecting a 10.5% decline compared to the first month of 2025. Meanwhile, supplies throughput saw a year-on-year increase of 9.61%, with a monthly total of 9,731 tons.
Additionally, road transport to the Canary Islands has reached 84,109 tons so far this year, a decrease of 1.44%. Container throughput totaled 12,911 TEUs, down 15% year-on-year.
