Wuhan institute of Marine Electric Propulsion, established in April 1963, is the only professional research institute in China dedicated to the development of ship electric propulsion systems and ship chemical power sources. It primarily under.takes the research, design, manufacturing, testing, and final assembly of ship electric propulsion systems and chemical power sources. The institute currently has over 1,900 employees, including 85 national and provincial level experts and 25experts receiving special government allowances from the State Council.
