Lanzhou LS Petroleum Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "LS Equipment") was founded in 1953 as a pioneer in China's petroleum drilling and production equipment manufacturing industry. Its predecessor was Lanzhou Petroleum Machinery Plant, one of the 156 key construction projects during China's First Five-Year Plan.
LS possesses a long and profound history and technical foundation in petroleum drilling rig manufacturing, with "LS Brand" and "LS Made" renowned both domestically and internationally. Since its establishment, LS Equipment has supplied more than 2,000 sets of various drilling rigs to major oil and gas fields, drilling companies, and drilling contractors at home and abroad. At its peak, the domestic market share exceeded 90%, with customers including major domestic oilfields and drilling companies, as well as drilling and oilfield service companies in more than 50 countries and regions worldwide.
In the early years of the factory, LS people actively responded to the national call of "I dedicate oil to the motherland," overcoming hardships and pioneering breakthroughs. They successfully trial-produced China's first petroleum drilling rig (Model 130), China's first "92" drilling rig, China's first offshore drilling rig, China's first 6,000-meter electric-drive desert drilling rig, China's first 7,000-meter petroleum drilling rig, China's first deep-well AC variable-frequency electric drilling rig, China's first three-cylinder mud pump, and more—opening the history of China's independent manufacturing of deep-well petroleum drilling rigs and filling over 100 technological and product gaps in the domestic energy equipment field. Entering the new century, generations of LS people have upheld the pioneering spirit of "drilling without limits," persevered with determination, and continued to innovate. They have launched the world's first ideal drilling rig, 9,000-meter AC variable-frequency drilling rig, "Yellow River" series premium drilling rigs, helicopter-lift drilling rigs, and other high-end petroleum drilling rigs, reaching advanced international R&D and manufacturing levels, and earning the reputation as the "backbone of petrochemical machinery" and "meritorious enterprise in equipping China."
In recent years, the company has adhered to the new development philosophy, accelerating the green, digital, and intelligent transformation of traditional industries. It has focused on the development and manufacturing of major key technologies and equipment such as ultra-deep-well offshore petroleum drilling rigs, high-end offshore drilling equipment and spare parts, intelligent drilling rigs, truck-mounted drilling rigs, trailer-mounted drilling rigs, and fracturing equipment. The company now has the capability to manufacture various petroleum drilling rigs with depths from 1,000 to 15,000 meters, offshore drilling modules, various types of fracturing equipment, and pumping units, and can provide overall solutions, system module engineering, complete drilling rigs, rig components, spare parts, and various technical services according to customer needs.
The company holds API Q1 quality system certification, 4F, 7K, 8C, and 11E monogram usage licenses, ISO 9001 quality management system certification, ISO 14001 environmental management system certification, and GB/T45001 occupational health and safety management system certification. All products are strictly designed, manufactured, inspected, and serviced in accordance with the management system controls.
The company covers an area of 724 mu, with a drilling rig final assembly test field capable of simultaneously raising 8 complete drilling rigs. It possesses 733 sets of various production equipment, including 458 sets of major production equipment. The company currently has more than 970 employees, including over 160 professional and technical personnel.
