Sunward Aircraft Co., Ltd., founded in 2008, is a high-tech joint-stock private enterprise integrating production, education, and research, initiated by Professor He Qinghua, a leading figure in mechanical and electrical engineering at Central South University. In the segment of fully composite manned light aircraft, the "Aurora," China's first light sport aircraft to receive civil aviation airworthiness certification, is a star model in China's general aviation sector. Sunward Aircraft has become the only domestic enterprise to mass-produce world-class products for civilian manned aviation. In the field of UAVs, encompassing single-rotor, multi-rotor, fixed-wing, compound-wing, and tethered configurations, the company has developed a range of differentiated UAV products that have been deployed in bulk for applications such as cargo delivery, emergency rescue, and remote sensing. Key ongoing projects include long-endurance multi-purpose UAVs and a 7.5-ton-class large unmanned transport aircraft.

The company has obtained the AS9100D Quality Management System certification, the Aircraft Type Certificate (TC) and Production Certificate (PC) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), as well as airworthiness certifications for light sport aircraft from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia. It is one of the few private high-tech enterprises in China to hold all of the aforementioned civil aviation qualifications.
