Starting as a technical engineering company, Getecha was approached by an early German plastics manufacturer to assist in the design of a material reclaim process for the re-use of scrap material generated in the production process. Over a period, Getecha continued to work with various plastics manufacturers improving the design and performance of the equipment. Through word-of-mouth, other plastics manufacturers began contacting Getecha to build similar equipment for their individual applications. Over the last 50 years, Getecha has become to be known as a premier plastics granulator manufacturer throughout Europe. In 1999 Getecha looked to expand into the North American market. A local partner was found and Getecha Inc. began its operations in 1999 and manufacturing and selling equipment from the Kalamazoo Michigan facilities in 2000. Getecha Inc. launched its initial product line at NPE 2000 with a great deal of success. The launch of the business in the North American market concentrated primarily on the Getecha line of proprietary angled rotor, beside-the-press granulators. In 2001, Getecha Inc. manufactured the United States number one selling model beside-the-press granulator. In 2000 Getecha developed the worlds first sprue recovery system for the optical disc industry (CD/DVD). Since this time, Getecha has sold over 2,000 of these systems into optical disc manufacturing facilities world-wide and claims a 95% plus market share. In 2002, Getecha Inc. began offering a line of mid-sized and central granulators to the North American market. Getecha has a terrific reputation in the European market with this line of granulators due to the significant differences in our design approach. Instead of simply throwing larger horsepower motors onto larger granulators, Getecha has achieved a reputation of developing a better cutting system through improvement in rotor and cutting chamber designs. These improved designs provide for the following: Slower rotor revolutions delivering better quality regrind and quieter operation More efficient cutting action allowing for lower horsepower requirements - greatly reducing energy consumption and costs Faster, tool-free clean-out and accessibility designs to increase uptime Off-rotor blade setting devices and fixtures to reduce downtime and greatly improve safety Getecha offers the following lines in the North American market and offers full technical support, installation and specialized application assistance to our customers: SRS Series - The SRS (Sprue Recovery System) is a special and unique small stainless steel granulator specifically designed to run in-line in the production of optical discs (CD and DVD). The system provides for a closed loop process of collecting, transporting, granulating, and proportioning the regrind back-in line. Payback times of less than 6 months can typically be achieved in DVD applications. SRS 100 A-4 - A small granulator designed, built and priced for the micro-molding industry. GRS Series - Angled Rotor Granulators for beside-the-press, granulating room, clean-room and batch feeding applications for runners and parts with FMC (Fastest Material Change) times of under 10 minutes RS 180 Series - Small footprint, smaller runner beside-the-press granulators. FMC - 10 RS 2000 Series - Mid-sized (8" rotor diameter with widths to 36") beside-the-press and granulator room systems with segmented rotors in a variety of designs, including the ultra efficient staggered rotor. FMC - 15 RS 3000 Series - Mid-sized (12" rotor diameter with widths to 60") central/granulator room systems with segmented rotors in a variety of designs, including the ultra efficient staggered rotor. FMC -15 RS 350 Series - Heavy duty (14" rotor diameter with widths to 48"), mid-central granulators with fully automated, hydraulically actuated hoppers and cutting chambers for heavy duty and thick walled parts. FMC - 20 RS 4500 Series - Heavy duty (18" rotor diameter with widths to 60"), central granulators with fully automated, hydraulically actuated hoppers and screen cradles that slide out completely from the cutting chamber for heavy duty, thick walled and bulky parts. FMC - 20 RS 6000 Series - Heavy duty (24" rotor diameter with widths to 60"), large central granulators with fully automated, hydraulically actuated hoppers and screen cradles that slide out completely from the cutting chamber for heavy duty, thick walled and bulky parts. FMC - 20 RS 8000 Series - Super Heavy duty (32" rotor diameter with widths to 72" and throughput in excess of 10,000 lbs. per hour), high throughput massive central granulator systems with fully automated, hydraulically actuated hoppers and screen cradles that slide out completely from the cutting chamber for heavy duty, thick walled and bulky parts. FMC - 30 Evacuation Systems - Getecha designs and builds its own evacuation systems for proper removal of the regrind from its grinders and transportation of the regrind to designated locations within the customer plant. Systems are sized based on the granulator, conveying distance and type of material. Systems are offered with specially exhaust air filtration systems, fines separation and metal separation. Feeding systems - Getecha offers feeding systems to transport the scrap/unground material into the granulator. Conveyor belts, pneumatic conveying, auger conveying and other specialty feed systems are available.
