We believe this unique close link raises us above all others in the market place. Sunpower Ltd is approved to BS-EN-ISO 9001:2000 and our factories are approved to both ISO-9001 and ISO-14001. As a group our aim is total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Those that buy in small volumes have always been forced to buy through the distribution channels, although they generally have products available to you in stock you may have to pay higher prices for the convenience and often loose the technical support and advice available through the manufacturer. Why are we different to other power supply suppliers? Medium to large requirements have gone direct to the manufacturer but even with very high prospective run rates the responses received are likely to be mixed, delayed by time zones, and important information sometimes lost in translation. Business terms can also be imposed in the form of minimum order levels, pro-forma payment periods and extended delivery lead times, often taking the benefits out of a direct relationship. This is where Sunpower Ltd is different we do not fit into the often limited category of a distributor or manufacturer. We are the UK arm of a Taiwanese manufacturer as well as having extremely strong bonds with other, highly skilled factories and engineers in China. Approved to BS-EN-ISO 9001:2000 our aim is total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement our factories are also approved to both ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 ensuring you receive an unsurpassed level of service, support and product knowledge to supply you with the best product for your particular application. We offer a range of “off the shelf” products from low power DC/DC converters through to parallel-able & hot swap 3000W industrial units that are available from stock or can be delivered to you in as little as 2 weeks. If a standard unit does not quite meet your requirements rather than going off to create a custom design, we will first consider modifying a standard unit to suit your requirements if this is not feasible we would then guide you through the custom design process. Wherever possible we will adapt ourselves to fit around your requirements making us more cost effective and flexible in the supply of your products. For more information on the service and support available to you when you discuss your power supply needs with Sunpower please refer to our design capabilities section. We believe our unique close links with the Far East and dedication raises us above all others in the market place. As well as our own manufacturing facilities in Shanghai and Taiwan we are Authorised distributors for Mean Well Enterprises providing you with a cost effective and direct way of obtaining their dependable and high quality power supplies. Purchasing all of your power supply needs via us also provides you with an unsurpassed level of service, support and product knowledge to ensure you are supplied with the best product for your particular application. Sunpower Headquarters Sunpower are ideally placed in Berkshire along the transport corridor for major London airports and southern ports. We are only 8 miles from the M4 and 11 miles from the M3. Enabling us to ensure efficent, cost effective and timely transportation from our factories, into our warehouses and onto our customer base.

MES is configurable software that helps manufacturing companies achieve measurable improvements in efficiency, output, compliance, quality and customer satisfaction. Implementing MES also greatly assists in the drive for LEAN manufacturing. You are no doubt working hard to get your manufacturing operations working towards world-class standards. Finding ways of making even the smallest improvements in performance and quality becomes an increasingly difficult and expensive challenge, yet this is the reality faced by most companies. The demands of customers and the pressures from competitors and shareholders are a constant force for change. By focusing on the practical issues faced by manufacturers, we have devised powerful applications that are highly configurable and economical to run and support. They are readily understood and used at all levels from the shop floor to operational management through to group-wide management and executives. Lighthouse factory information systems target the area that even the most sophisticated enterprise resources planning systems (ERP) are incapable of addressing – the availability of consistent production data that’s essential to pinpointing problems in your production processes, identifying opportunities, effecting change or meeting regulatory requirements e.g. traceability data. Most manufacturing operations record lots of operational data. The problem is that it is invariably locked up in a variety of different systems ranging from computer applications to spreadsheets and paper records with the ever-present possibility of human error. It’s not accessible to everyone who might benefit from it, it’s not consistent, it’s rarely available when needed and it has to be reprocessed before it can be presented to management. Our MES solution – the Shopfloor-Online MES Factory Information System – provides real-time visibility of the entire manufacturing environment. Being web based, the information it collects can be accessed by anyone who needs it – the operator of a particular machine, a colleague on another part of the line or the shift manager. It also makes it available to support functions: production engineering, maintenance, engineering, quality and, of course, operational management. And the view is not just plant-wide: it can be used to see what’s happening in any of your production units anywhere in the world. It can aggregate data from across plants to provide plant-by-plant performance metrics. The same data is a valuable repository for engineering functions that need to plan new product introductions. Shopfloor-Online MES is also scalable you can introduce in one part of the factory, then when proven extend it to other areas and expand the scope. The software is internationalised so can be deployed across all your plants across the world backed up with support from Lighthouse offices in Europe, USA or Asia. It is based on the latest web-based architectures, it is certified by Microsoft, it slots in with your existing IT infrastructure and integrates with existing IT applications such as ERP. The gains that come from such an integrated and systematic approach can be dramatic. By concentrating on the very heart of your manufacturing operations Shopfloor-Online MES gives you the means to reduce spoilage and downtime and improve quality, performance and on-time delivery. The companies that have adopted MES have demonstrated a payback that is typically measured in months. Lighthouse MES systems are being used in a wide range of industries such as medical devices, packaging, pharmaceuticals, automotive, aerospace, plastics and electronics. We work in partnership with corporate giants such as Rexam, Crown, Nissan, Toyota, BD and GE, and numerous smaller but highly progressive manufacturing companies. A Lighthouse MES factory information system enables you to transform your manufacturing culture from one where operational and investment decisions rely on intuition and experience to one where they are based on accurate and consistent real-time information.

The food processing and pharmaceutical industry sectors in the UK became uniquely dominated by a small group of retailers and manufacturers who demanded stringent safety and quality in their products. This environment enabled Lock to develop world-beating sensitivity and performance from their machines, and as a result they became a major supplier of detection equipment to the worlds food and pharmaceutical and textile manufacturing corporations. Sales to the food, pharmaceutical and textile industries grew annually with improvements in technology continuing to increase detection capabilities. Lock developed purpose-designed solutions for a very broad range of contamination problems, and achieved recognised leadership positions in a number of sectors such as snack-foods, pharmaceutical tablets, bakery, confectionery and conveyorised packaged foods. By the 1970s, sales in American markets for Lock had been growing fast and, in the early-1980s Lock established a direct representation in the USA. Then, in 1992, Lock purchased Barkley & Dexter, a well-established US supplier of metal detection and weighing equipment, thus establishing a very substantial foothold in the US markets. In 1999 Locks pioneering expertise continued to set industry standards with the launch of the MET 30+ range of machines, combining unparalleled sensitivity with full digital technology. The technological progress continued into 2001 with the launch of the new WeighChek range of checkweighers and combination metal detector systems. Following extensive research into the evolving needs of the food and pharmaceutical industries, the innovative WeighChek series incorporates state-of-the-art technology and enhanced performance while continuing to deliver the reliability synonymous with Lock equipment. The prime operational site is at Oldham in England, where Manufacturing and R&D are carried out. The wholly owned US subsidiary is based at Fitchburg, Massachusetts, where manufacturing is also carried out for the American markets. In 1999, a sales and service support office was established at Etten-Leur in the Netherlands in order to deliver enhanced support to long-established users of Lock systems across the Benelux countries. Locks continued growth and expansion into Europe was further marked in March 2000 with the acquisition of its French Distributor Qualimatic. Lock metal detectors are known to be installed in over 60 countries in the world and Lock has sales and customer service facilities established in 50 countries.
