Sagrad’s success lies in the culmination of four key business units which together offer a very unique, highly effective complete suite of solutions. The company leverages the strength of the engineering staff to design new products and IP both internally for Wi-Fi and product development and externally based on customer’s needs. Engineering Services: The Sagrad Engineering team is comprised of some of the industry’s most widely recognized and respected RF, software, and digital engineers. The Sagrad team is credited with being former members of the original WiFi technology development in the 1990’s and have a successful track record of new product development over the last five years. We believe our team has successfully enabled over $50 Million in sales for other companies through products we have developed for our customers in the last five years. Contract Manufacturing: Sagrad has invested substantial resources in the last two years and remains committed to supporting the company with EMSservices. These services provide in house capabilities for rapid prototypes and in house production of low volume products for vertical markets as well as products that have domestic production requirements. Sagrad has a strong record of high quality with very few returns under warranty. Sagrad has consistently delivery quality products to several government customers as well as commercial. Our products are used in both the military and medical markets. This in house capability is also used as a lunching pad for high volume production in Asia. The in house service allows for a more informed design team by allowing honest, frank, and quick discussion between production and engineering teams. Ultimately this relationship improves our products by insuring the best possible engineering practices are used and test/production issues are worked out before transition to Asia occurs. Sagrad HK, Inc is our sister company located in Hong Kong which manages and supports very high volume production. Typical transition to high volume is very quick and successful due to our successful refined processes. WiFi: Sagrad has been designing Wi-Fi modules for over five years and has found a strong market for its products in low, mid and even some high volume applications. IC vendors are not able to support mass market integration customers and focus only on a few key customers. Wi-Fi has been successfully integrated into cell phones, laptops, access points, printers and gaming consoles but little else. This is due to the technical challenges related to the complex nature of 802.11 standards, embedded, RF design, digital design, antenna integration and regulatory testing. Sagrad solves all of these integration issues with a well positioned, complete solution for easy customer integration. The demand for wireless connectivity in vertical markets is very strong and yet there is little support in the market place. Sagrad has won successful accounts in industrial controls, point of sale terminals, and medical markets. Sales cycles are long however Sagrad is launching volume customers in Q3/Q4 and Q1 2010. The major growth in Sagrad sales will come from future Wi-Fi and other wireless modules. Demand from volume customers continues to very strong. Sagrad distribution and sales rep partners are bringing in increasing demand during these harder economic times. Consistent design wins will increase our position when markets return to normal operating levels. Non Wi-Fi Products: Sagrad provides 8 channel audio transmitters with key features that are desirable for rack mounted professional installations. The markets have found an ideal use for these transmitters in restaurant and entertainment venues where customers desire to listen to audio matching up to their selection of video content. This service allows customer to hear the video of their choice at their table and often retains customers in the venue longer, increasing sales. Large poplar restaurant chains are adopting these products at an aggressive rate. We have found increased sales in the 2ndhalf of 2009 will result in substantial sales in this market and will increase as restaurant sales continue to climb. Sagrad is working with key partners to launch this product world wide. Sagrad provides specialty receivers and transmitters designed for most cellular frequencies. These products are combined with a software defined radio for applications by the government. These systems support most all cellular standards currently used world wide. Sagrad continues to expand their offering in this area and values key customer relationships in this product area. Origins of Our Name: Sagrad is a short form of the combination of the Latin word Sagax and English word Radical. "Sag" from Sagax (Intelligent) and "Rad" from Radical (roots of an equation). The closest thing I can find in a modern dictionary is Sagacious

Throughout the world, you can find Vortex Valves handling the world’s dry bulk solids. It took the company three short decades to reach the level of success it enjoys today. The company originated from humble beginnings in the late 70’s. Neil Peterson, a mechanical engineer experienced in pneumatic conveying, and Lee Young, Neil’s son-in-law, started Salina Vortex in an early Cold War era military building in 1977. Salina Vortex was named after Salina, Kansas (the city of which the company was founded) and ‘Vortex” after Neil’s initial valve concept that created a vortex to direct material flow. His purpose and dream was to design and manufacture innovative and problem-solving valves for handling dry materials in pneumatic conveying systems. Neil knew that traditional butterfly valves and knife gates were suitable for handling gases and liquids, however they had deficiencies in handling dry solids. A new design was needed to eliminate the problems associated with these types of valves, specifically material flow obstruction, self -cleaning, and seal abrasion. His perseverance paid off with a valve design he deemed the Orifice Gate. In 1980, the company was awarded a patent on the Orifice Gate. This new valve design surpassed the industry’s expectations for handling dry materials in pneumatic conveying. Chemical Processing Magazine awarded the Orifice Gate its “Vaaler Award”--judging it a major contributor toward more efficient and effective operation of plants in the chemical processing industry. This achievement changed the way process engineers selected valves for handling dry solids. Between 1980 and 1989 additional products were developed. The unique Wye Line Diverter, which applied the same design concepts of the Orifice Gate, dramatically improved process efficiencies when compared to traditional flapper or tunnel style diverters. The Salina Roller Gate and Clear Action Gate were also conceived during this decade. Each new product added more dimension to the material handling capabilities of the Vortex line of gates and valves. To address increasing demand of these new product lines, additions were made in 1987 and 1989 to the original building. In 1989, Lee Young became CEO of the company in preparation for Neil’s retirement. Under Lee’s direction Vortex continued to increase its market presence and expand its manufacturing facilities throughout the 1990’s. The company received many industry accolades for new product development and achievement. These awards include: two Innovation in Powder / Bulk Technology Awards (the only repeat winner for this award), Kansas Society of Professional Engineer’s Governor’s New Product Award, Kansas Department of Commerce’s Breakthrough Product of the Year Award, and Kansas Exporter of the Year Award. In 1999, Lee earned Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Since 2000, Vortex has continued to increase its market share and develop new products. Additional Industry recognition followed throughout the world: Vaaler Award for the Seal Tite Gravity Diverter Processing Magazine’s Breakthrough Product of the Year American Institute of Chemical Engineer’s Best in Show Award for the 2001 International Powder Show, Powder and Bulk Engineering’s Reader’s Choice Award Chemical Equipment Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Award. In addition to these honors, many national and international publications have featured stories and case histories relating to Vortex slide gates and diverter valves. In June of 2006, Salina Vortex will expand once more by moving into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and office complex that spans over a 15-arce campus. This new facility will allow enough space for Vortex to introduce lean manufacturing methods supported by leading-edge fabrication equipment and laser cutting technology, as well as, provide additional offices for its corporate staff. This new complex will be located at 1725 Vortex Avenue in Salina, Kansas. Vortex’s success comes from a philosophy, which includes willingness to work with special customer needs, focus on quality, and timely customer service.
