Since then STEYR has been the leader in this sector in Austria and has thus had an extensive influence on local agriculture. The first STEYR pick-up trailer and, as a pioneering technical achievement, the first STEYR 4-wheel drive tractor were introduced in the 1960s. The red-white-red design, which has now become the companys trademark, was created in conjunction with the Plus series in 1967. The 80 series and particularly the current models of the STEYR Kompakt, 9000MT, Profi and CVT series demonstrate how consistently STEYR adapts its products as well as its development and production cycle to the more and more rapidly changing market conditions. The export rate is around 60 percent. The major foreign markets include Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the Benelux states. Furthermore, the Spanish Scandinavian countries, Great Britain and the east European states are gaining importance as new markets. A total of 21 different tractor models of the STEYR brand are produced in St. Valentin. The St. Valentin location The St. Valentin location is the European sales- and production centre for tractors between 80 and 224 hp. St. Valentin is also the centre for national sales and marketing as well as product training for the German-speaking markets. Quality proves itself as success strategy At this location with its rich tradition tractors are produced for markets in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. STEYR places targeted emphasis on quality. High-tech in the areas of transmission, comfort and application electronics, diverse options and individual production are the focal points of the companys positioning in the markets.
