Thanks to its strength and technological innovation, the STAR-APIC Group can supply Integrated Enterprise Solutions, that fit perfectly with modern system architectures and meet the fundamental needs of organisations to: • Integrate and share geographic information around a powerful and interoperable database (back-office) • Distribute and exploit data on different platforms (enterprise, internet, mobile devices, DVD-ROM) according to users needs (front-office). The STAR-APIC group provides the best tools in order to guarantee the success of your GIS projects with emphasis on better and more profitable use of geographical data. The Group has drawn on its commercial experience to build vertical applications and services on its Integrated Enterprise Solutions. These bring significant benefits in the field of land and network management and cartographic publishing for: • National and local governement, • Companies managing water, gas, electricity, telecommunication and public transport networks, • National geographic institutes and cartographic publishing companies. In addition software the group offer the complimentary services of consultancy, training and software maintenance, together with integration services with complementary software from its technology partners. We work closely with partners who supply technology or expertise in specific fields. This allows partner companies to integrate geospatial data into their applications and solutions (integrated pipeline management, for example). The STAR-APIC Group is committed to quality and open standards for both products and services. We conform to ISO quality standards and those more specific to the geospatial technology (Open Geospatial Consortium). The Group has received recognition and awards in Belgium, France and UK for its activities in the field of geospatial technology and innovation. In 2006 STAR-APIC received the “Award for Excellence in Partnership 2006” from ORACLE Corporation, in recognition of the Group’s “contribution to the development of the Oracle Spatial partner community in Europe the Middle East and Africa.” The STAR-APIC group recently acquired the BUILDING One and CABLE One solutions which are developed using STAR-APIC technology. The sensor head made of borosilicate glass and a variety of field mountable casings, for example of stainless steel, make it extremely resistant to a great number of aggressive liquids. Integrated electronic devices that require no special settings make the sensor easy to operate. All parts exposed to surrounding media withstand a compression load of up to 40 bar. Thanks to the optical principle, fluids can be detected easily, wear-free and continuous without requiring an electrical connection or a mechanical movement between fluid and sensor. Depending on whether the sensor tip is surrounded by liquid or air, the limit angle for the total reflectance of the light changes. If the sensor tip is surrounded by liquid, the light beam is diverted into the fluid and the sensor exit changes its switching status. The liquid medium can either be conductive, non-conducting, cloudy or clear. For hazardous locations or applications with cramped space conditions, optical fibre versions are available. A special sensor head preventing drop formation makes these versions highly chemical resistant and applicable for temperatures of up to 105 ° Celsius.
