Description

Project Name: Procurement and Installation of a Crane for the Bernburg Road Maintenance Depot

Tendering Procedure: Open tender procedure in accordance with the German Ordinance on the Award of Public Contracts for Construction Works (VOB/A)

Project Content and Core Scope: This is a turnkey project encompassing the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, on-site installation, commissioning, EU conformity certification, putting into operation, and final handover of one overhead travelling crane. The bidder must ensure the equipment is fully functional upon delivery and complies with current German and EU regulations.

Item Name and Quantity: 1 electric overhead travelling crane (double-girder or single-girder, specific configuration to be proposed by the bidder based on technical parameters)

Detailed Technical Specifications and Functional Requirements:

Lifting Capacity: ≥ 3.4 tons (i.e., maximum lifting capacity not less than 3400 kg)

Effective Workshop Area: 15.0 m × 15.0 m (i.e., coverage area of the crane's runway)

Main Hook Lifting Height: ≥ 5.50 m (from ground level to the highest hook position)

Pit Lifting Depth: ≥ 7.00 m (i.e., the hook must be capable of descending 7 meters below ground level into a pit for lifting operations)

Drive and Control Method: All mechanisms (bridge travel, main hoist lifting, trolley traverse) shall be rope-hoist driven to ensure smooth lifting and positioning accuracy.

Operation Method: Typically via pendant control station or wireless remote control system (final configuration subject to tender documents)

Power Supply Requirements: Must comply with German industrial standard grid (typically 400V/50Hz, specifics subject to site conditions)

Regulations and Certification Requirements:

EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC: Equipment must bear the CE marking and be accompanied by a Declaration of Conformity.

German Industrial Standards (DIN / EN): All electrical and mechanical components must comply with relevant safety standards.

Occupational Safety and Health Requirements: Must meet relevant testing and acceptance regulations of the German Statutory Accident Insurance (DGUV).

Delivery and Installation Scope:

Supply Boundary: Includes crane main girder(s), end carriages, hoisting unit, electrical control system, safety limit devices, runway rails and buffers (if required).

Installation Works: Includes on-site lifting/assembly, mechanical alignment, electrical wiring, and system commissioning.

Civil Works Coordination: The bidder must verify the pre-embedded conditions for crane runway rails and support brackets prior to installation and provide technical support if necessary.

Commissioning and Acceptance: Completion of no-load, full-load, and static/dynamic load tests, with issuance of an acceptance report.

Training and Technical Documentation:

Provision of at least one on-site operation and maintenance training session.

Delivery documents to include:

Operation manual (in German)

Maintenance manual (in German)

Electrical schematics and parts list

CE Declaration of Conformity and original manufacturer's certificate

Warranty Period Requirement: Typically not less than 24 months (specifics subject to tender documents), covering all mechanical and electrical components of the equipment.

Site Conditions Description: The project is located within an existing road maintenance depot workshop. Bidders must consider constraints imposed by the existing structure on installation. The pit depth is 7 meters, and the crane design must have sufficient rope capacity to accommodate deep pit operations.

Contract Award: Expected Q2 2026

Installation Start: October 20, 2026

Final Handover: December 20, 2026 (i.e., operational before Christmas)

Additional Notes: If a bidder proposes an alternative solution (e.g., different brand configuration, alternative technical approach), a main solution compliant with all technical requirements must also be submitted simultaneously. Submission of multiple main solutions (e.g., different structural forms, different control systems) is permitted, but each solution must be priced separately and completely.

Subcontractor Management: If installation or electrical works are to be subcontracted, this must be declared in the bid along with submission of the subcontractor's qualification documents.
