Project Background : As part of the Solomon Islands Government and UNICEF 2025/2026 project cooperation, UNICEF is committed to developing climate-resilient social services in the Solomon Islands. The proposed climate-resilient infrastructure will target communities, schools, and health facilities on Guadalcanal Island. This project is part of that effort, aiming to complement UNICEF's software interventions in collaboration with local government agencies. Project Objective : To construct two WASH facilities at Nambu Community High School and rehabilitate the existing boys' and girls' dormitories, ensuring they are climate-resilient and meet the needs of the students. Scope of Work : New Construction : Build two new ablution blocks, each containing a four-unit toilet and a three-unit shower, with attached handwashing and laundry stations. Rehabilitation Work : Rehabilitate the existing boys' and girls' dormitories at Nambu Community High School, repairing damaged walls, roofs, and floors to bring them up to current standards. Supporting Facilities : Construct one septic tank and soak pit for each of the male and female ablution blocks. Project Location : Nambu Community High School, Guadalcanal Province, Solomon Islands. Procurement Quantity : Specific quantities of works (2 ablution blocks, 2 dormitory rehabilitations, 2 sets of septic tanks and soak pits) and related materials and labor services. Tender Document Composition : Technical proposals and financial proposals must be submitted separately. Including any price information in the technical proposal is strictly prohibited. The email subject must state the notice number, company name, and submission type (technical or financial). Payment Terms : Payments will be made in stages according to project milestones. The winning contractor may propose a payment schedule. If an advance payment is requested, the contractor must provide an unconditional bank guarantee issued by ANZ Bank in favor of UNICEF, with all related costs borne by the contractor. Key Contract Terms : The expected construction period is a maximum of 6 calendar months to achieve substantial completion. The defects liability period is 6 months. The contract will include liquidated damages clauses for delay. The contractor must sign the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Code of Conduct and comply with UNICEF's Environmental and Social Standards (ESS). |
