BRIEFING
The city gate station receives gas from upstream pipeline transmisstion stations and serves as the gassource station for the dstribution pipelines of city orindustrial zones. The gas delivered from the upstream pipeline is received by the station, and then undergoes processes such as dust removal, pressureregulation,metering and odorization before being fed into the downstream pipelines of the dty orindustral zones. The ciy gate station reduces the gaspressure to the level required by the city or industrial zones gas supply system. If the gas pressure from the long distance transmission mainline does notmeethe pressure requirements, additional pressurization facilities may need to be installed. To address the daily peak regulation of city gas, gas storagetankstations are usually setup after the ciy gate station, or a peripheralhigh- pressure loopsorsemi-loops are constructed around the city. Thishigh-pressure loop supplies gasto the city pipelines through several gas distrbution stations. The gasstorage tank stationcan be setup separatelyorintegrated withthe city gate station.
