The capital costs of conventional pump and treating systems are high. These systems often require the installation of recovery wells with rotary, stainless steel submersible pumps. In addition to the high capital costs associated with conventional pump and treating systems, the operation and maintenance of these systems is cost prohibitive. Peristaltic pumps are a lower cost solution however the pump tubes require frequent replacement when exposed to aggressive chemicals.
