The SW ......The Storage Winch (SW) is designed to meet the requirements for safe deployment and recovery of a Cable Plough and for reliable performance during the demanding ploughing operation both in shallow and deep waters. The SW provides the storage capacity for the towing wire in addition to maintaining a constant hold-back force for the Traction Winch in order to mobilize the systems tension capacity. The SW is applicable for use as a standard multipurpose storage winch. The complete Cable Plough Towing arrangement delivered by NONAS consists of the Traction Winch (TW), Storage Winch (SW), HPU, Towing Sheave Bracket (TSB) and the stern A-Frame. Operations The SW is supplied as a lightweight and compact unit optimized for easy maintenance. Hydraulic supply is provided from a central Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU). A PLC based control system controls all operations of the winch and gives the accuracy and the response time required for modern ploughing operation. The SW operates in normal speed and constant tension mode. The SW is operated from remote control or locally on the engine.
