On February 24th, China Guoneng (Ordos) Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. announced the list of successful bidders for the open tender of the integrated management services for the Ordos Coal Liquefaction Upgrading Demonstration Project. This project is a significant undertaking in the energy and chemical sector, involving multiple key technologies and services.
According to the announcement, the successful bidder for Lot 1 is China International Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. (CIEC), the candidate for Lot 2 is Huanqiu Engineering Project Management (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and Lot 3 was won by Jiangsu Henghe Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. These companies will provide integrated management support for the coal liquefaction upgrading demonstration project.
The Coal Liquefaction Upgrading Demonstration Project implemented by Guoneng (Ordos) Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. adopts advanced second-generation coal liquefaction technology. The project plans to construct a new coal liquefaction production line with an annual capacity of 2.2 million tons and a coal indirect liquefaction production line with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons.
In terms of the technical route, the coal liquefaction section follows the "coal liquefaction - hydro-stabilization - hydro-upgrading" process, while the coal indirect liquefaction adheres to the "oil synthesis - oil processing" path. The project is equipped with a coal-to-gas system to supply hydrogen for coal liquefaction and synthesis gas for coal indirect liquefaction. The main plant area covers approximately 312 hectares, encompassing process unit areas, chemical storage areas, flare facilities, vehicle and train loading facilities, as well as related utilities and auxiliary facilities.
The project produces a diverse range of products, including automotive diesel, aviation kerosene, liquid paraffin, naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and coal liquefaction asphalt, with a total investment reaching 42.6 billion yuan. The advancement of the coal liquefaction upgrading demonstration project contributes to improving energy conversion efficiency.
Previously, on January 30th, Guoneng (Ordos) Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. had already announced the bidding results for the technical licensing, process package preparation, training, overall design, basic design, and technical services tender for the coal indirect liquefaction unit. The winning bidder was a consortium formed by Synfuels China Technology Co., Ltd. and Synfuels China Engineering Co., Ltd.
